Of the plants I have in this area are pretty draught tolerant and low maintenance. They have to be because I’m not running out there with a hose and it’s right next to the road so it gets abused. I did have to water these plants as they were getting established but this area survived a major draught last summer with only two hose waterings the entire time. This is a FULL SUN area. Having a lot of things packed into one long area means that many things are in bloom simultaneously. Spreading them out and repeating them creates continuity throughout the beds. I coordinate the strip with what is on the other side of the sidewalk so there is cohesion there as well. Many of these are pollinator plants and there are a few native plants in there as well.
